Alan,

I don't know for sure, but I would say that it depends on the 
manufacturer and vehicle size.  Chrysler has been fond of Unibody for 
some time in all sizes, other manufacturer used frame and body in the 
larger cars and unibody in the smaller ones.  One exception which comes 
to mind is the late 50 and all 60's Lincolns.
