The tanks were revalved by a local oil company, Campbell Oil Co, in
Ames, Iowa that sells propane bottle refills and also has tank wagon
delivery. The job ticket was $14.75 a valve, $10 total labor, $13.75
each to fill them. One still had valid certification from
recertification less than 5 years go, the other was recertified for that
total ticket.

I was ready to compare the price of new tanks to the cost of new valves,
labor and recertification, but at least here in the middle of Iowa, new
valves on old tanks was the best way to go.

Sounds like in California that new steel tanks are less hassle and
almost the same price as new valves and recertification.

Time to go hitch up and exercise those tanks! I'm gone!
