Re: [VAC] 1962 globetrotter

Susan, your 62 GT, and many 61's with the battery box up front , behind
the LP tanks, takes a 3ET battery. You can get that battery at Sam's,
($49) or Sears, ($59) or any major Battery store, like Interstate. If
you want to use that box as a tool box, or a flower box, you can move
your battery location to a lower spot , by having some angle iron welded
on the frame, and place a new group 27, or larger deep cycle battery
there, in a protective plastic battery box. As far as the sewer tank
valves go, you may have to upgrade to some new valves, if the old ones
have been discontinued. Camping World has a hard to find parts
catalog, and might be able to help you. Otherwise you may have to find
a good RV repair facility for new valves. The valves on your old LP
tanks are obsolete next year anyway, with the advent of the new OPD
valves, so you may want to get new tanks and valves. They are very
inexpensive, almost throwaway. New 20 lb steel tanks with new OPD
valves at Sam's Club are about $29 each. If you want to go first cabin
and get new aluminum tanks, with new valves, they are about $129 each.
Shop around, read and learn,.........and good luck.
