Re: [SilverStreak] reply to Celesti

Hi to the new members, I am surprised you have not had more response.

My wife and I own a 1974 Continental Supreme 32' and it needed some work when
we purchased a year ago.
I can tell you that parts are difficult to locate if you want original items.
We were fortunate in that the parts we needed came mostly from a member that
was gutting out a trailer from the same era.

As far as the water heater, ours was heavily encrusted with calcium, but it
did work. So what I did was to drain it and remove the pressure relief valve.
Then poured in 2 cups of C.L.R. (available from most hardware stores) then
refitted the pressure relief valve and fired it up for an hour, let it sit for
2 hours and drained it. That cleared 99% of the build up.

I can also say that there are many on the list that reply to the emails sent
and are very helpful in solving problems. Many do travel through he summer and
I would think that is why there has not been a lot of replies.

I have been busy with repairs to our new abode as we have recently moved to
Arizona, and have had little time to spare between work, and work at home (I
need a vacation!).

I will be happy to try to help with anything I can. I am not familiar with
any of the models except ours but, have some practical experience that helps.

I can say that these trailers are better built than what is available new.
And the nostalgia is an experience all to itself.

Good luck in your ventures, Bill
