Re: [VAL] Cleaner?

Thanks Daisy,

Yes, all the inside skin must come off, all wiring is burned bare, for some
reason the aluminum either burned away or is intact, not discolored even at
the burned away areas but soiled with a oak, rubber and plastic residue that
wants to chip but not wash, just like a dirty oven heavy build up on the
glass door etc. All the inner skin is heavily buckled, but the exterior
hasn't a blemish, even where the ceiling inner skin burned away. Seems the
insulation is some sort of spun rock wool, did not burn and did not discolor
as it contained all the fire to the inside. Of course all will have to be
disassembled, spotlessly cleaned for smell, rewired, reinsulated,
straightened where some ribs buckled, and reskinned before the oak liner
panelling can be totally redone. Maybe Tom is right and it is just a lost
cause.

It's all there, all the cabinets made of aluminum, even the central vac
still works, but all the oak doors, the wardrobe fronts, the kitchen,
bathroom, are all just charred frames hanging from rusting vintage hinges
with melted squeeze latches all destroyed. I am amazed at what the aluminum
could handle, and the incredibly effective insulation material. Not one
running light is melted from the inside heat.
