Re: [VAL] Cleaner?

Oh dear, oh dear that's a dreadful story. I'm sorry to hear it.

What year is your trailer ?

If the walls were the vinyl clad aluminum, I don't think anything would
take the charred vinyl off. Nothing takes it off when it's not
charred. The other problem is that aluminum discolors when it gets too
hot, so that even if you used say aircraft paint remover which is
designed to work on aluminum, you will likely get blue and green and
brown places all over depending on the heat .

The other bad thing is that the wires are probably no good, since the
insulation on them will have been melted and charred too.

If it was mine, I would strip everything off the inside and redo the
wiring and anything else that is bad. There was mention of a new
flooring material to use instead of plywood. You do need to do some
serious cleaning to get the smell of burn out. Do the rewiring, then
get new aluminum inside skins. I dunno how you get that, but the
Airstream Factory may be a lead, or try an airport where they fix
airplanes. Actually if it was mine, I might consider taking the
opportunity to do the inside skin in thin wood veneer so it looked like
an old Spartan inside.

If your skin had the Zolotone paint on the inside skin, the aircraft
paint remover might work better on that. But you still will probably
need to do rewiring.

My condolences,
Daisy
