Ozi doesn't operate online, but can use many raster type maps. All of 
the USGS maps are in optimum format, which is row organized packbits 16 
colors. Ozi can also import some shape files (ESRI type .arc files). My 
Ozi map files (consist of two files--a TIFF image and a .map calibration 
file) generally take up about 30 gigs, which is on the order of several 
thousand maps.
