The oldest surviving Airstream is a plans built trailer. It is owned by the
builder's son. He does have the plans, however in talking with him a year or
two ago I learned that Airstream would not recognize a newly built trailer
from those plans as an Airstream. So if you did manage to find the plans you
could end up with a cool trailer, but not an Airstream...and would not be
eligible for club membership.
