Tom,

Not just the widebodies. When they changed their manufacturing process 
to the 3 piece shell they started using the pre painted roof sheet on 
all coaches. Some of the new little ones are not wide bodies. The 
factory has never "advertised" that they have tried or used rubberized 
roof coating.
 They are known to experiment occasionally. Several years ago they 
mounted the stainless steel wrap protectors on just 6 coaches backwards. 
With the hinge on the side. Just to see. We saw one out here and I 
called them on it.
