Tom,
I've been working on a 68 Caravel for a client and was very surprised to
find aluminum wire used for both the 120 v AC and for the 12v DC systems.
They even used wire nuts to connect solid aluminum to stranded copper. This
all appears to be original. Not sure how safe it is, however it has worked
for 36 years. This sounds like a question for the good Doctor.
