Ed, I just checked my newly aquired 63 Tradewind. It has the vent fan you're talking about. The two screws go into holes on the ends of the bracket that holds the fan motor in place. One of them is actually a slot. This bracket is a bridge across the opening for the fan blade & motor. Colin
