[VACList] Generator use

Is there any problem with operatoring a generator out of the back of an SUV at a 
rest stop? The tail gate would be open, windows open, exhaust pipe pointed out the 
rear, vehicle would be unoccupied. Refueling would be done outside the vehicle. 
I've read the owners manual and this is not mentioned. Should the generator be 
grounded to the vehicle? The generator is an 80lb Yamaha YG2800.
