Re: [VACList] black tank structural support

Hi Jon,

I am up against the same problem with my 66 Overlander which sounds like it
is constructed very much the same. I am still working on the idea of
placing the tank just behind the last axle and in another box type situation
like the newer A/S models.

A great problem at many campgrounds it the location of the sewer which
always falls about where the axles are and I end up piping the drain all the
way from the back of the trailer. I have even carried a section of rain
gutter to serve as a support for the hose. I also worry about the
floor/body separation thing with the tank located back at the end of the
trailer.

I like the clearance provided by the older trailers, great for offroad trips
through Africa and Wyoming for that matter! But I still think that
maintaining the weight as near the axles is best.

I too welcome other points of view on the subject.

Cheers,

GAS
