[VAC] Re: Condensation drain for Air Condioner?

Hi Tom,

I had to take the interior of the air conditioner out to remove the ceiling
panel. The installation seems to be an after market as the installers
pinched the AC power line between the outer shell and the spacer blocks.
Then drove many screws through the line. Other areas, they missed the
spacer blocks completely. Maybe it was a shade tree home grown job. At 27
years young, it could have been done at anytime and I don't have a date on
the unit. Haven't tried to power it up as I have other things to do that
are much more important to towing. However, the condensation line puzzled
me. All I see in the pan is a bunch of what looks like foam? Might be to
keep the condensate from sloshing out and spilling on my head?

I note that there's little support for the AC, more like the outer skin and
possibly the inner skin. I'm still reluctant to put my 200 pounds on the
roof and it makes necessary servicing nearly impossible. Walk on the ribs?

Thanks for your reply.
