Re: [VAC] Shocks? Bambi's and Henschen Axles
Thanks, Bill - your thoughtful suggestions are always appreciated.
The original 'pipe-frame' seems to consist of a 4" diameter, narrow-gauge
steel tube as the 'spine', or 'keel'... with aluminum cross-members riveted
onto the spine at intervals. the current plan is to construct a ladder-frame
entirely of aluminum, with a short section of steel pipe - possibly even the
existing pipe - and use the existing (original) hitch. i plan to use a
bumper treatment like Bud's at the rear, and a 4" pipe to preserve the
original 'pipe-frame' appearance. The aft pipe will serve as a carrier for
the sewer hose.
I agree that lowering the A/S is probably not a great idea - i had intended
to make it 'tow-able' by the Prowler - but i'll deal with that when i've got
the Clipper optimized for a more conventional tow- vehicle...
