Re: [VAC] Wheel question

John,

Good question. I would go to a qualified trailer repair shop and have them
check the wheels. My local shop has people with years of experience and
they can usually give good advice. Now you probably don't have to worry
about the wheel unless you're using the load range D tire on a 6 lug wheel.
That wheel had better be able to take 2540#. It's my understanding that 6
lug trailer wheels are rated at 2600# and although the rating is not
stamped on the wheels I have , my local dealer says they are rated at
2600#. For load range C tires I would not be too concerned.

John, if you are not sure about the wheels, take your rig to a qualified
trailer dealer and have him look at them. My local automobile tire dealers
are clueless about wheel load ratings.
