Best bet is to never snip or cut away the aluminum sheeting, even what's
there can be used to help make a pattern for the new replacement
sections.  

Always drill the rivet heads with a bit equal to the rivet shaft size
(usually 5/64th, 1/8th or 3/16th) in the middle of the head to the point
that you can insert a punch the size of the bit into the hole.  With a
little sideways motion pop the head off.  Then you can then punch the
remaining bucktail in - nice clean hole.

Wood wedges help separate the overlapped side skin panels in order to
bet the belly skins out.
