Sorry to hear you are not going to slip over to this side of the mountain.
There are lots of nice places to stay along Hwy 16 in the Bighorn Forest. They
have campgrounds but I prefer to do dispersed camping, just find a spot that
has been used before and pull into it. They are always in sight of the roads,
but there is little dust and traffic most of the time. BLM land can be camped
on too, the only thing you need to think about is water or fill your tank in
the closest city. There is still snow from the biggest drifts so bring a
jacket. Maybe we will see you with our 19" Sabre sometime in the future.
