I have had good luck in extending the life of plastic exposed to UV here
in Florida by first spray painting with flat black then a final over
coat of what ever color I need. The reason for the black stems from my
building shade houses and using polypropylene shade cloth. The black
likely comes from carbon which blocks most of the UV.
