Dan,
When I reinforced the hitch on the 1962 Globe Trotter I welded several
supports on the bottom side of the frame so the the battery box can sit down
in between the frame. I also moved the gas bottle bracket ahead about an
inch to make room. It all works fine, I don't mind the black box but one
could always paint it silver. I like the battery outside and in the
plastic box.
