RE: [VAL] Zolatone removal



Marc,
I stripped the Zolotone out of my 18 foot 59 with Bix Aircraft Stripper,
found at most big box hardware stores. I used a lot of it over a long
period of time ( I could go into my records and get the exact amount of
time and stripper if you need) this is not a easy chore. I started
stripping the panels while they were still up and that was a real pain,
it was easier when I pulled them out. When I finished I had paint ghosts
on the panels and that led to me polishing the inside when I
reinstalled. I was not going to repaint, don't like the look of the
homemade job that I would have had, so polishing seemed to be the way to
go. Still looks good after about 3 years.
