Re: [VAL] Airconditioner rebuilders

AC licensed...Go to Johnstone Supply, 5 Houston locations, or 800-392-5073.
Don't believe the sign on the door, they sell to anybody. The only wholesale
is the various freons, of which you have to be licensed. Get a fin comb,
very cheap, couple of styles, and get some foam cleaner too. Take off your
cover, straighten the fins best you can, wet r down and hose r good, get r
soaked and soft, then spray in that foam and watch it go! Hose r down good
as you can get. Don't flood the motor, and do lube with 30 wt and your oil
can after dry. Don't run any wet motor until dry cause it'll fry.
Straighten, wash, lube. You will be amazed what good air flow does for
cooling, amperes draw, head pressure reduction, and longer life. The better
you clean, the better it will all work. The best clean up is a total careful
disassemble.

You can do this. No real money, just a lot of work. It can be done on the
coach. Be careful, wet alluminum is slippery as you know. Disconnect shore
power before working with water around the ac. The foam cleaner will not
remove paint or mar-streak your finish. All other kitchen type cleaners
will, as they are usually amonia based. Amonia is a great paint remover and
will instantly frost bright aluminum.

Hope any of this helps. Get-R-Done!
