[VAL] Shock Absorbers

Has anyone with a '66 or so single-axle (17') Caravel ever replaced 
shocks? If so I sure could use some info if anyone has (miracle upon 
miracle) a NAPA part number or something...  I've got the wheels off and 
took the shock to my local parts house but they're having a problem. My 
old one has the same diameter bushings top  and bottom, but they're 
telling me the replacement they recommend has different dimensions on 
each end.  Appreciate any help.
