RE: [VAL] Original vs not

Mary,

One of the things that I normally do to make a living is sell antiques and
collectibles and such. My mom is one of those people that buys things that
"should" have value later on.

What I tell her (or anyone else) is if you expect it to have as much value
as possible later on is to keep the box and all of the crap that it came
with. Go buy a large storage tub and throw it all in there and store it
somewhere. It also makes the stuff easy to find if you do want to get rid
of something as they are all together in one spot. If it's old and you want
to change it, but are afraid of selling it later, take all of the removed
stuff and cram it in a storage tub and save it.

If you are "worried" of damaging the value of the trailer take the Gaucho
coverings and stuff them all in a storage tub. The carpet isn't original
and you can "lose" it somewhere. But if you don't like window coverings,
faucets, or stuff like that stuff it all in a tub and lose it somewhere in
your garage or attic. You will have your own peace of mind and if the next
owner gives a damn you can say "Here ya go, all of that old stinky crap is
in this".

The trailer is yours, you are the only one that needs to be pleased. Anyone
else can say what they will, but they don't have to take it home at night or
sleep in it. And, until they do, their opinion of decoration shouldn't
matter squat. And, unless it matters to you, or you are entering your
trailer for vintage judging, who cares.
