[VAL] Bowen water heater pressure relief valve

    All,

The 1/2" water heater pressure relief valve on my Bowen six gallon began
leaking this weekend a while after I fired up the burner. I'm talking just
a minor dribble from the threaded outlet but it's enough for me to know that
I want another valve. I removed it and with it in hand, trotted down to my
local hardware store. They had one that would fit but the thermal probe was
half the length of my almost 4" copper one. By the way, the old one is a
Robertshaw 125 PSI, 210 F model.

Can I use the one at the hardware store with the shorter plastic covered
2" probe or do I need to get one just like the old one?

    Thanks,

    Glyn
