    Warner Electric introduced electric brakes for travel trailers in 
1937.   Most cars and trucks were 6 volts until the mid 1950s, when the 
industry  changed over to 12 volts.  Many vintage trailer electric 
brakes were designed to run on 6 volts.  But not being an electrician, I 
cannot tell you whether 6 or 12 volt trailer brakes can be changed to 
operate on the other voltage.

   What trailer(s) are you considering towing with your 1952 Packard?
