[VAL] Region 7 VAC Rally and some other stuff

Hello All,
We just got home from the Region 7 VAC Rally, Shine in the Pine. What a
great rally! Thanks to all who worked so hard to put this together and
host this event. Region 7 Rep Dick Parins and his wife Kris were
responsible for finding and organizing the event and we were hosted by
Curtis and Julie Gunderson at their great Bed & Breakfast Home in
Duquette, MN, what a great place to hold a rally! Everybody who attended
seemed to have a good time and we were able to share some great ideas
about restoring these old Airstreams and discuss what we need to
accomplish as a club.I also want to mention that we were joined by our
Past VAC President and his lovely wife, Bob and Bonnie Herman, it was
great to see them again.

Again I just want to say "Thanks" to all who attended and helped with
this event!

Also as a group we had time to start planning our activities for our
Vintage Region 7 members and it looks like we have some good things in
the works for 2006. We are planning a Vintage Caravan to the
International, Vintage parking at the Region 7 Rally and another Region
7 VAC Rally, stay tuned for more as the Fall moves on. You can also pick
up this information on the VAC website and in the Region 7 Blue Beret
articles this winter.

Last, Sandy and I were able to take our maiden voyage in the 59 Traveler
and attend Shine in the Pine, the trailer performed very well and we
were very happy to use it 4 years to the date that we bought this thing!
This trip would not have been possible without YOUR help. I want to
thank each of you who helped me with this restoration, without your
input and your participation on this list I never would have been able
to put this trailer back together (I'm not done so look out I'll be
asking more of you!). For those of you out there working on your
Airstream and those who are thinking of picking up a project trailer all
I can say is don't give up, there are plenty of people willing to help
you along the way. The only warning I will give you is I hope yours is
not the "Sun Spot Baby" that my 59 has become! Now its time to look for
another project, I have another daughter looking for a wedding gift down
the road.
Thanks again to all of you,
Ed
