Re: [VAL] caravel pumps and valves

I too, have a '68 Caravel, and only this weekend put water in it for the
first time. I'm
sure to have more questions, but my first one deals with the two valves that
reside very close to my pump. One appears to be simply a drain valve;
i.e., when it's
open, water drains out that little tube beneath the trailer; what is the
other valve
for? Is it the one that allows water, when it's open, to flow out into
the rest of the
system? i.e., alternately, if I shut it, will that stop the water from
flowing? and is
this it's sole function? (and yes, I have the same water pump switch at
the kitchen
sink that Gerald alludes to below).

Thanks,

Alan
