Thank-you for letting me join your list.

Sorry to say, we own a Silver Streak and not an Airstream, but I was told
that your group is still a good source of information in restoring and
enjoying our SS Rocket.

Our 1961 Silver Streak Rocket was originally owned by my husband's
grandparents and has not been used for over 20 years. Now that my husband is
in his late 50's and we are starting to plan our retirement years, we have
decided to rebuild the SS for our own use. My husband was born in Boulder,
Colorado so I imagine we will always live here.

It is not in too bad a condition but we have yet to really look at the
workability of the appliances.

I do need advice on some questions right now:

1)  How do you clean the outside Aluminum?
2)  We are looking at an Equalizer Hitch.  We will be pulling with a 3/4 ton
Dodge Diesel Pick-Up.  I am trying to find a source to buy this hitch at a
discounted rate.  Our RV store has quoted me a price of $539 plus tax.
Anyone know of a bargain store that can beat this price?

Again, thank-you for letting us join as we go down this new road of
restoration.
