Scott, Do you have a picture you could send to me? Can you see *threads* inside the opening in what you believe is a riv-nut? You can drill out aluminum riv-nuts but why would you want to remove them IF they are indeed riv-nuts? Riv-nuts are used as blind fasteners when you need to or are able to (legally, etc.) fasten material together. Tom WBCCI 5303
