  My Bambi is  a California model and on the street side, its very hard to 
get the 13" tire and wheel off .  I am checking to see if I can upgrade to 
14" tires. In the meantime, the I have found a 13" Towmaster 13" that is 
load rated D for 1660 lbs per tire. This is a higher rating than many load 
range C 14" tires.
  The last tire that blew up had not been on the trailer for three years. I 
just used it for a spare. I don't believe that its failure had anything to 
do with the weight of the Bambi.  Most of the failures that I've heard about 
were with 15" tires on tandem axle trailers. The 14" upgrade would certainly 
be preferable if you can get the tire off the trailer if you have a flat. I 
don't think that the upgrade is going to protect against blow outs. IMHO
