The 'scuffing' is more like swirls left from machine sanding. Most of the front end cap is this way, and there are several other, smaller spots, where this occurs. Rob Davis suggested wet sanding with 1000 grit paper, so I'll try that to see if I can lessen the effect. I really don't want to get into replacing the whole end cap :^( Bob
