[VAL] Mystic Springs Rally

Hi All,
Just a note to thank all the good folks at the Mystic Springs Rally for
their hospitality and friendliness. Glenda and me took our 57 Overlander
out for the first time to this rally. The folks at the park were very
helpful to this novice vintage owner. If all the units are as the
Pensacola Fla. unit, then our camping is going to be great.
They helped get us parked, shared very useful info on "Airstreaming,"
fed us some wonderful food, and a better than all that they made us feel
"at home."
We met some of this list members and made many new friends. Herb Spies,
Doug Robottom, Chip Adams and Jimmy Wilson and their wives are just a
few of the campers that shared much needed info on the art of restoring
and upkeep of a Vintage Airstream.
Our first outing was good even though we lost the front vent cover
(found it on the way home! Divine intervention!), leaky old toilet, etc.
Glenda, my wife, is now an Airstream fan. She was skeptical at first of
my new toy but after the reception she got from the ladies of the park
she has remarked that we need to get a newer model for some serious
roaming in the USA!!!!
Incidentally, our "old 57" came in third in the judging of the vintage
units at the rally. That was really an unexpected surprise after seeing
some of the beautiful trailers there.
Again, Thanks Pensacola unit, you were what we needed. Only wish you
were closer to home!
