Glyn, On my '73 there is a piece of sort of butcher block on the underside. It looks like it wants to be a cutting board. It is inset maybe 2 inches so the wood is inside the sink and the formica sits inside the trim ring. I think there are probably two of them originally.. Do you need photos ? Measurements ? Daisy
