Re: [VAL] then 20 years, now 25 years? was:'78 Sales Brochure

Tom.....there are people trying to tell you something. The VAC was started
as an Intra-Club in 1993. The founder was R. L. "Bud" Cooper. The WBCCI had
no input as to what was considered vintage and there was no vintage unit or
intra-club prior to that time..

The VAC was sanctioned as an Intra-Club in January, 1993 with 32 members.
Club dues were $7.00 a year, and the newsletter was pretty basic, with the
first issue published on March 26, 1993. Thanks to Pearl Main, a Charter
Member, I have all the newsletter issues.

At the time of the Charter, the 25 year requirement was set, and has
remained so to this day.

VAC Officer elections were held at the International Rally at Bismarck in
July 1993. This was also the rally where there was hailstorm damage to
nearly every trailer there.

Anyway, the first elected officers were:

President R.L. "Bud" Cooper
1st V.P. Stanley Baston
2nd V.P. Walter Overgaard
Recording Secretary Lucille Traucht
Treasurer/Membership Duane C. Hedahl

Newsletter #2 then published Bud Cooper's method for removing dents.
Interesting, but tedious and requiring two people and lots of patience.

If you are a VAC Member, you can download all these old newsletters in PDF
format from http://www.airstream.net. They are well worth the time.

I hope this clears the 20 years vs 25 years question up.
