Gary,

You have a very good point. I rifled through all my photos without finding 
one that shows how they're attached, but if memory serves (and I think 
it does), it's to the axle. Phooey!  And I was thinking of them as 
something to alleviate worry, not the opposite.... I'll be over there 
Saturday as I continue slowly polishing, so I'll check it out then - and 
see how much trouble it's going to be to remove them.
