Re: [VACList] Electric Brake Controllers

Not exactly, Bobby. You attach a flexible cable to a bracket on the brake
pedal arm which makes the trailer braking force proportional to how hard you
push the brake pedal down. The amount of trailer braking force is further
adjusted for trailer weight and driving conditions by adjusting a knob on
the controller box attached to the dash which adjusts the electrical energy
sent to the trailer in proportion to the brakes being applied to the tow
vehicle. It's fully adjustable. Having started Airstreaming back in the
early '70s with the old hydraulic-electric Kelsey Hayes proportional
controller that tied into the vehicle brake line, I now have the Jordan
Ultima and wouldn't tow without it.
