[VACList] Please don't re:new (to me) caulking method

Jon,

Stop here, please.

Do NOT use *any* metal brushes on aluminum unless you want to permanently
remove metal and leave scratches that you will *never* get rid of.
Furthermore, you will be removing the CLAD aluminum from the older
Airstreams that used such a product.

Aircraft supply houses sell nylon bristle wheel brushes that will remove not
only old sealer but also light surface corrosion. And, they don't harm the
metal unless you'd like to wear down the bristles to the metal hub of these
wheel brushes.

I would NEVER use any metal brushes on aluminum skin no matter IF I could
see the now damaged area or not. If you do use metal brushes you also need
to be made aware of the fact that you really are setting yourself up for
some major corrosion in the future. And who wants that? Corrosion that is.
