I just finished removing alot of old silicon caulking from my Bambi. I found
that Goof Off  softened the caulking better than mineral sprits. Wood dowels
sharpened with a pencil sharper  and a rectanglar carpenter's pencil
,unsharpen, provided  good working tools that didn't  hurt the surface. IMHO
wire brushes and Dremel tools would cause alot of damage.
