if i poke around the shop, i might be able to find the July 1948 issue of
'Trailer Life' i found on ebay some time back... there are several
illustrations and ads showing trailer dollies and tongue wheels mounted and
in use - nearly universal practice in those halcyon days, when trailers were
much lighter, and people were far less litigious - i suspect that runaway
trailers were a fairly common occurence.
