[VACList] WBCCI & Vintage Airstream owners

Hey Don,

In my opinion, the Washington DC Unit (WDCU) is the cat's meow for any
WBCCIer - but especially for owners of Vintage Airstreams.  WDCU  members
have Airstreams which are vintage or non-vintage.  Some members have several
Airstreams - new and old. Any WBCCI member may join the WDCU.

When the WDCU was formed, an initial goal was to establish a Unit that would
represent all owners of Vintage Airstreams within WBCCI, regardless of where
they lived on the continent.   The name "Washington DC Unit" was chosen
because this is where representation of our entire country is located.

The WDCU is a full fledged voting member within WBCCI.  As such, our
Officers are in a position to officially speak for members in our Unit.  Why
is this important? Local units speak for their members, but local units are
not primarily made up of members who own Vintage Airstreams.

We now have a direct voice in how WBCCI deals with topics which could impact
owners of Vintage Airstreams.  This Unit is the only place we feel that
objective can be accomplished with persistence and well thought out
concepts. 

If we were in your shoes without ties to a local unit, we'd become "regular"
members of the Washington DC Unit.  As an aside, the WDCU is one of the few
Units within WBCCI that is continuing to grow in membership.  Plus - it is
the only Unit within WBCCI that has planned activities occurring throughout
the continent.
