Jerry - I think you're looking at the offset torsion-arms of the Henschen
dura-flex/dura-torque axle with integrated suspension... these were first
used in the '61-'62 Airstreams and thereafter, replacing the straight
axle/leaf-spring suspensions of earlier models.
