[VAC] Charge line (12 Volts) on GM vehicles with HD towing package

This won't help the folks with Dodge or Ford tow vehicles, but-

I had a local Chevy dealer check to see if the 12 volt "charging line" on
the 7 blade connector is disconnected when the engine is off.

The answer is YES.

So at least one manufacturer is doing it right.  Based on this, one could
safely assume that GMC  and Chevrolet trucks with the HD towing package (and
wiring) are the same, and do disconnect the 12 volt feed to the seven blade
connector when the engine is off.
