[VAC] Introduction

Hello Airstreamers
Cindy & I have been mostly "lurking" here for about two years. During that
time I have asked a few questions about buyer's tips on 70's trailers, all
of you have been very helpful in educating us of the good, & not so good
things about these trailers. Thank you very much for the friendly help &
encouragement.

This past fall the local MI. group held a rally in our town's waterfront
park. We walked in to see the 60+ trailers & visit with the members of the
club. We were invited by Richard & Bonnie Osborne to join WBCCI & the MI.
unit. We did join on the spot. Thanks to Woodland RV for sponsoring our
first year as WBCCI members. Richard & Bonnie made sure we felt welcome
during that weekend including introducing us to the group & sitting with us
during the evening meeting & events that followed. Thank you Richard &
Bonnie for a great initiation to the club.

I'm trying to find the name of a 1957 13 panel trailer that followed me home
one day. The sn # is 0 7160, it's 26' 8" long ball to bumper, rear toilet &
shower, twin beds over the single axle, & the kitchen sink & stove is on the
street side with the fridge & heater on the curb side. There is a slide out
couch across the front hiding a pressure water tank. Any help form the
experts on identifying this one? I can send JPEG's to help if you want them.

I was an Aircraft mechanic for most of my working career, then switched to
ground vehicles for the last few years, to that point I'm a self confessed
tool addict. I've been following the thread on screw drivers, I'd like to
add a 'tip' of my own on the subject. Snap On Tools sells apex inserts for
screw drivers, every one knows that, but no one has mentioned the
"Anti-Cam-out" bits listed on page 194 in the catalog. P.N. #
SDM261RA,SDM262RA, SDM263RA. These bits have teeth cut in the sides of the
cross so they grab onto the inside of the Phillips screws. These replaceable
tips will fit in any brand apex screw driver. They are well worth the $1
each ya gotta fork out to the tool man.

Thanks for all the help in the past & future -
John Young
