[VAC] Re: Suburban Furnace Questions



         Yes- you do need to remove the outside vent cover- there will be 
two screws (on either side of the port) holding the exhaust port to the 
outside skin. Inside, there will be a couple of screws, plus the wiring and 
LP hookup- the LP hookup is kind of strange- the nut you will turn is 
actually on the furnace side- so it will turn backwards from what seems 
logical.

         The whole case is held in by four feet screwed into the floor.

         But... as others have said, unless it is in great condition, I 
would just replace it- Suburban no longer offers parts for these, and odds 
are that the combustion chamber is on it's last legs, rust wise. A new 
Suburban NT model will fit with a small platform to raise it so it will 
align with the outside holes.
