Ann & Peter,

Gwen prepared the tambour for painting by cleaning it thoroughly with
about 4 applications of various high strength cleaning fluids and a
final washing with alcohol.  In order to be certain that the paint will
adhere to the tambour, it's critical to remove all traces of dirt and
grease.  She used latex paint and a stiff artist's brush for the cracks
between the tamour pieces and a small roller for the faces.  The
difference is amazing.
