Jamie,
 I'd stay with axles rated for the trailer, excessively "heavy-duty"
jobs will cause a much rougher ride. Sorta like riding in a 3/4-ton p/u
instead of your Lexus.

That said, if your Dura-Torque axles are 30 years old, I've seen it
recommended here that they probably need replacement. The rubber
"springs" do have a finite life.
