[VAC] My RV salvage yard trip- Denver

Hey folks, I know in past we've talked about RV Salvage
yards, and most people probably aren't close enough to get
to one. Today I made my once a year trip to Cherokee RV
salvage in Denver, on the way back from Camping World, where
I spent some real money (!). Since I recently got a '64 GT,
I was just browsing for anything which might be useful.
There is a an amazing array of RV objects there, and
somewhat well organized, considering that it's salvaged from
Rvs. As for A/S stuff, there is one particular room just
for them, but not well organized, so it was hard to find
just what was offered. Seems most of it is from the 70's
models, lots of radius curve vents, tail lights, some
tambour etc. I took about an hour to look around the whole
place, like a kid in a candy store. They do have some A/S
panels, the curved ends, about 10-12 of them. I could not
tell you which particular years are there, as they have them
hanging from the ceiling, to avoid scratches. Lots of awning
hardware, some wheels. Also a wide variety of hardware for
cabinets, torsion bars for hitches. I could go on forever of
course, But I would emphasize that this is a source for
parts, and they do a good bit of phone business. (though I
don't have the number just now- will find it & post it
later. Really the best thing to do is to spend some time
looking around for what you need, but they do seem to know
where most things are when asked. Helpful staff.
Even though it is salvage, the prices are not generally
cheap. They know the real value of the parts, but probably
would negotiate on most of it...
All in all, I was an enjoyable way to spend time on my day
off. Until next year
