The cap has a hexagonal fitting on the outside - it's weird though - not really a wrench fitting, I did what bobb suggested - big pliers, turn - if it's threaded it'll come off, if it's not, it'll come off anyway. I wasn't too worried about aesthetics since new ones are cheap, and I've got hubcaps. Toby
