[VAC] Re: Trailer Covers

Jim,

In theory covers sound like a great idea. ....................... Personally I wouldn't use one on a car or trailer that was out in the weather. Over the years I've seen too much damage from sun & wind. I've seen designs etched into the vehicle's finish from the sun beating through a cover that either had several different colors or different thicknesses at the seams. The lighter colors reflect the rays while the darker colors don't, ............... this could cause problems underneath. .................. The wind can be a very big factor. I've seen many supposedly well installed & tight covers on various RV's flopping & banging in strong winds. This proceeds to work things loose. Then damage can result.

For a prized vehicle that is garaged a cover make sense to me as it can help protect from dust and the possible cat that might climb around with dirty feet.

My personal way of thinking is to make sure your unit is sealed tightly for any leaks and to keep something inside to get rid of any moisture. Either chemical little dryers, light bulb if it's a smaller trailer or a small electric heater on low. Obviously one would need power to do this.

Sorry you had the power problem that messed your directory up.
